Covered Bridges - Parke County

On the weekend of the fourth, we visited Parke County and drove around the countryside to see some of the covered bridges.  I had never been to Parke County before or seen any of the bridges.  Although the day started off a little rainy, by the time we got to Parke County, it turned out to be a nice day and a bit humid!  Along the way we made a few wrong turns but it was all in good fun!

Our adventure started off at Narrows Covered Bridge near Turkey Run State Park.

To get to this next bridge we had to take a very long and skinny gravel road.  Needless to say, it was kind of a rough ride on this road and it was a road we initially missed but after consulting our handy map we made a u-turn and were are our way.

Our travels then took us to Bridgeton to see the bridge and the mill.  This bridge actually burnt down and was rebuilt in 2006.  Unfortunately, it sustained some damage from recent tornadoes in the area.
